Role and Duties CARD
CARD has the role as the Coordination Body to assist the Royal Government in facilitating the Agriculture and Rural Development by cooperate closely with line ministries, relevant institutions, sub national administration, development partners, civil societies, and private sector to be more effective.
CARD has the following duties:
- Set up priorities, key issues, and policy programs in Agriculture and Rural Development correspond to the policy of the Royal Government.
- Act as the representative for the Royal Government in meeting with international and other development partners related to Agriculture and Rural Development.
- Responsible for management, coordination, monitors, evaluation, and give advice in preparing the implementation activities along with the policy of the Royal Government on the Agriculture and Rural Development.
- Facilitate oversight, monitor and evaluate all the implementation of the projects related to Food Security and Nutrition sector of the relevant ministries/ institutions, sub national administration, development partners, civil societies, and private sectors in order to increase work effectiveness.
- Mobilize and facilitate so that there is numerous involvement from the people, rural communities, private sectors, development partners, civil societies, relevant ministries/ institutions, sub national administration in order to make it easier as well as close cooperation in rehabilitate the Agriculture and Rural Development sector in order to reduce poverty in Cambodia.
- Promote, give incentive, and mainstreaming gender policy, and ethnic minorities in Agriculture and Rural Development.
- Determine the cross cutting issue related to the Agriculture and Rural Development, and promote putting these issues in the policy discussion, and strategy of the Royal Government.
- Have a wrap up meeting on CARD’s activities and make report to the Royal Government.
- Implement other duties assigned by the Royal Government.
